Over 100 volunteers from Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) attended a picnic at Norwich Cathedral to celebrate their dedicated service and achievements.
Over 100 volunteers from Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) attended a picnic at Norwich Cathedral to celebrate their dedicated service and achievements.
The picnic party followed National Volunteers Week, which took place this year June 1st – June 7th,when volunteers across the country are celebrated for the invaluable work they do.
The volunteers were welcomed and thanked by Canon Andy Bryant, Dr Venu Harilal and Lady Bacon.
NCH&C has over 200 volunteers who contribute on average 300 hours of support per week. The Trust recognises the importance of valuing its volunteers who provide countless hours of support to patients, staff and visitors. As a small token of gratitude, NCH&C hosted its 2nd annual volunteer appreciation picnic in the beautiful grounds of Norwich Cathedral. The picnic was a success with beautiful weather, tasty food, and a special performance by NCH&C choir – Salutem.
Dr Venu Harilal said: “This is the second year running we have hosted this event to celebrate the achievements of all our volunteers and thank them for their dedicated service.
“Our volunteers provide an invaluable contribution to supporting care and services and it is wonderful to be able to thank them with a dedicated event to show our appreciation.
Anna Morgan, added: “Every volunteer at NCH&C gives their time, care and compassion.
“We appreciate the lengths that each selfless volunteer goes to and the motives they have for being here.
“It is with pride that we consider them part of the staff here at the trust and it’s important that they are recognised accordingly.
“Their support is invaluable and this event is a great way for us to show our appreciation and thanks for all that they do.
