Aviva helps celebrate volunteers at NCH&C

Volunteers' Week 2019

As part of Volunteers’ Week, NCH&C hosted a celebration event to say thank you to it’s 200 volunteers who contribute around 300 hours of support per week to patients, staff and visitors.

A team of colleagues from Aviva also got into the spirit of Volunteers’ Week by giving up their time to help support the event along with providing entertainment from the Aviva choir.

Anna Morgan, Director of Quality and Nursing and NCH&C, praised the role of volunteers:

“It’s wonderful to be able to celebrate our dedicated volunteers with a celebration event supported by Aviva. I can’t think of a better way to mark Volunteers’ Week 2019, than to have volunteers from Aviva give up their time to help run an event to celebrate our volunteers.

“Volunteers are an essential and valuable part of our organisation. Every volunteer at NCH&C gives their time, care and compassion to help others. We appreciate the lengths that each selfless volunteer goes to and the motives they have for being here. It is with pride that we consider them part of the staff here at the trust and it’s important that they are recognised accordingly.”

Paula Hall, Aviva’s volunteering site lead in Norwich, added: “Aviva is delighted to be asked to support this event for Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) volunteers during Volunteering Week. Our staff have 21 hours a year to spend on volunteering activities, and many of them use their time to support places like NCH&C. The Trust runs a number of sites across Norfolk, including Priscilla Bacon Lodge, a specialist palliative care unit in Norwich. The Lodge is close to the heart of many of our employees, so to be able to be part of saying thank you to all the brilliant people who support the Lodge and other community care sites across Norfolk is a very special opportunity.”
